Over time we've used a number of diferent makes of laptops - Sony, Toshiba, Dell, Apple Mac, etc. - at home and at work, and none of them have been as aggravating and irritating as this one, and this is NEW, purchased in October and packed with the latest kit, features and promises. While it is my wife's, we both use this ASUS, and it seems that if you so much as breath on the touch pad it activates it. What does that mean? You can be in the middle of typing or doing any kind of work - Microsoft Office, audio, video, etc. - and suddenly your typing jumps somewhere else on the document and continues there, or things disappear, or, if the cursor is off the work, it stops completely. There is a software pre-installed that is supposed to address this sensitivity, ELAN, developed by EMC in Taiwan, but it doesn't work, makes no difference... Read more |
